I don't know if they will mention this in the next episode but in the manga Yumichika says that he reason for the greater power with the second name is that his Zanpaktou doesn't like the color when he just gets the blades but likes the color when it creates that folower thing. Also in the next episode or the one after that you who didn't read the manga will get to see the guy with short hair and the 69 tattoo reveal his shikai.
