In a world where the taste and texture of food is extremely important there exist individuals known as Bishoku-ya (luxury food providers) who specialize in the acquisition of rare ingredients and animals. Toriko is one of these hunters and it is his dream to find the most precious foods in the world and create the ultimate dinner course. As one of the most skilled hunters in the world he is regularly hired by restaurants and the rich to seek out new ingredients and rare animals. A man with inhuman ability, he utilizes his incredible strength and knowledge of the animal kingdom to capture ferocious, evasive and rare beasts to further his final goal, the ultimate dinner course composed of the most delicious food in the world. He is currently accompanied by a weak and timid chef who, inspired by Toriko's ambition, travels with him to improve his culinary skills and find rare ingredients.
This anime to me is one of those animes that you just watch and cant wait to watch another episode or even read the manga cause your cool like that. Although at times it can be a little boring but its filler ep's are just darn good and make the more serious episode that much better. It also is very funny kindof takes me back to dbz days and even chrono trigger and dragon quest, the animation now is much more well rounded though but who's gonna argue with SS4 goku? I look forward to this series going on for some time, i almost have a feeling its coming to an end but i could be very wrong. i dont really rate by numbers so if you like to laugh, possibly cry, gawk at the screen in aw from time to time and just know a darn good anime when you see one this is for you and it looks like i have to rate it anyway blapblap 4.8
Hands down, one of the most creative anime series yet. Centered around food and cuisine, but all the things you love in a good action anime. The characters have dumb-stupid-awesome abilities and not like other anime where characters have too many abilities that one can't keep up. Not to mention, the highly anticipated showdowns from hunting the ingredients (food). Watching this make you wish you lived in the world of Toriko in the Gourmet Age. Hell, you might even be hungry after you watch this. So, if you want a new favorite anime, watch Toriko. Especially, One Piece and Naruto lovers, this is a good third anime to enjoy a good laugh and some action. (btw the theme song gets stuck in my head everytime...hehel) #Out2HavFun
So much to eat!
If i had to put Toriko into an anime genre, i'd probably have to make an entirely different brand altogether so that it would encompass the entirety of the show; There's alot going on in terms of both action, character development, plot development as well as just the generally "hanging-out" bonding time that sometimes escapes a good series. Everything about Toriko is food, food, food! From the very beginning Toriko makes it evident that yes, there will be cutscenes of amazing-looking food, and yes, there will be long battles against ridiculous creatures, and, yes, after we beat them we're gonna eat them! And then, yes, there will be MORE cutscenes of delicious food!
