I presume that these 2 anime´s are both considerd the best in those catogories, so yeah... its also the reason why they are so alike

but diffrent "gifts" and diffrent problems in diffrent times.
for instance Death note uses a book to write the names of the persons to kill and make them do thing unwillingly befor their death and decide how they would die.
Code geass Is similar since hes given the power to order someone in kind of the same way but it dosent need to end in death.
The concept of these series is a person who can seem like their whitout emotions and trusted whit in school and their personal life.
they also see something as evil and wrong and wish to remove it from thise world.
Kira wishes to remove criminals, and in the serie code geass the person whit the gift wishes to remove the britannians.
