Fairy Tail OVA
The first couple of arcs in this anime are pretty sweet (Phantom, battle for fairy tail, fight with Jellal) afterwards around the time of the orescion seie arc(or whatever I forget name) it starts to turn into people winning thanks to the power of friendship but you kinda move past it because it wasn\'t that over the top. By the time it gets to the Grimmoire Hearts arc you kinda feel that FT will win every fight but there is still some worry in the fights and epic moments. Now by the time it gets to the Grand Magic game arc it\'s gotten so ridiculously lame that every fight that FT should lose and are on the verge of losing (if that\'s even possible for them) turns into some speech about friendship and guilds being a family and they somehow get a magical boost and win with one attack.. this has happened SO many times that I was able to predict the outcome of 95% of the matches as soon as it showed who would be fighting who. The attacks become so gay and repetitive that watching them fight is dull. And it seems that 70% of the worlds strongest mages are in FT... Natsu just throws the word \"secret\" in the name of his attack that looks the same but it becomes a 1 hit KO.
I think people who are between the age of 13-18 might like this a lot, but for most people who are 20+ and can actually look at it with a critical mind set and not get a hard on for any episode as long as it has FT in the name will probably be as tired of it as I am. And no I\'m not just a troll who hated the show and came to post a bad review, because for a while it was the show I looked forward to the most, Naruto has gone down hill just as much and so has OP in my opinion (not trying to troll, just showing that the animes I liked the most can get old, drawn out and un interesting after a while)
really sucks. Natsu never loose. and each and every battle he becomes the hero who finis the battle. You can pretty much predict eery single plot. Fairy tail will really sucks if u compare with bleach, Naruto and one piece
When I set out to write the review of naruto shippuden in 2008 I never expected a firestorm of \"big three\" this and that so far down the line, the reason I called naruto, one piece and bleach the big three as such was because they really seemed unstoppable at the time and everyone wanted to watch more. With Fairy Tail, while it is good it is still the level of Rave Master (the authors other work, read it sometime) the quote-unquote \"big three\" refers to an anime that will be known years down the line that many a kid grew up to. Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, they all shaped my childhood same goes for DragonBall Z, sadly this manga and anime joined the running six years too late to really have an impact. But for kids of the \'90s the \"big three\" and DragonBall Z (which was in a pantheon of nostalgia all it\'s own) were what we watched. This rant is not meant to put fairy tail on a lower pedestal, it just asks to consider the cultural implication of the shows. Fairy tail may be the millennium baby\'s childhood but naruto, bleach, one piece and DragonBall Z were firmly mine. It can\'t be a part of the high three because that would be like comparing apples to whales, they are totally separate identities and being one or the other doesn\'t make them better or worse.
TLDR;
Personal opinions are fine, don\'t preach, you have nothing to prove to the internets, do what we came here to do, watch anime!
Ok to give you a heads up. Yes fairy tail is classed as the \" big 3 \" I say its number one in the 3 why?
Because of one thing its stayed true to its self through out the episodes un-like bleach naruto has stayed true to its self and thats why its still going but this isn\'t a review on naruto Under this you\'ll see the 3 main reasons and a more broad understanding of keeping with its self
* btw from what I\'ve seen an understand the reason why this anime is on hold is because its making the anime to fast and was going to catch up to the manga which is a no no in anime *
ok 3-4 reasons :
1. Maintaining its action, emotions and comedy * and other points *
Every episode it amazes me I don\'t know what is going to happen am I going to laugh? Am I going to think \" this is awesome \" in a fight scene or am I going to be taken down a characters path you can never judge the book by its cover.
I think the comedy is just the right amount and it can easily go to serious from laughing your ass off very well when they get to serious they make fun of the main character who you think can\'t look any funnier or do something with lucy their main squeeze
in closing of this point the action will amaze you, the emotion in it will make you feel the story and the characters and the comedy will make you wanting for the next episode because its that type of comedy that can go over board but do it well.
2. * as stated above * Keeping true to its self
un-like alot of animes that get stale and completely change directions this anime has kept its self fresh and true to its self and very much interesting the arc\'s are short - medium length they alot of the time bring things from the past into the anime * without a million flash backs and 3 episodes saying what happened * and they do it well, the bad guys will always surprise you as true from the first bad guy.
I see not much difference from the first episode to the last episode out it just gets better as the anime goes along I\'m still hooked and getting more interested as the anime goes along with every episode it just refines their characters and shows you how amazing they are * yes even after 200 + episodes they are still showing they are more amazing then you thought *
In closing with this point the stuff you fall in love with in the earlier episodes will not be lost, the anime is true to its self and quite easily will bring back your favorite characters or have a new spin to its plot and your going to love it.
3. I can\'t really tell a filler from a main story episode!
I know this is going to be hard to understand for alot of you but after watching alot of anime you see alot of fillers and you know instantly its \" sigh.. filler \" SOMETIMES not all the time but with fairy tail your going to be on for the ride the fillers are full of comedy will teach you alot about the anime and the characters and will send you down a path of \" what ifs \" I won\'t put any spoilers as much as I want to.
The \" fillers \" for me can sometimes be better then the main story that bit of randomness * yes this anime can be very random its apart of its comedy and spark * before that very serious episode or that \" what if \" that you never asked but now after the filler you are rolling on the floor laughing because its so random and out there * yes there is one moment when... * NO SPOILERS! XD
in closing, filler or main story episode your going to get a full adventure into the world of fairy tail.
4. * just a short reason I thought of *
its RANDOMNESS! haha it isn\'t a bo-bo-bobo * I think I spelt it wrong * but when it flings and idea at you sometimes your just going to be going \" wtf? \" in this anime then followed by a \" oh! XD \" just saying.
In closing
I\'m no Otaku (or I hope I\'m not) but let me shed some light onto the matter of \"Is Fairy Tail with the Top 3?\"
Well... to begin with Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece all deserve credit for what they do. Naruto being about a gutsy, noobish Genin/Rookie to --Spoiler Alert-- Konoha\'s Hero/4th Great Ninja War main decider. Bleach foretells about some high school boy who can see spirits, but suddenly gets drawn into the world of fighting/saving spirits/humans. One Piece goes on about a kid who eats a Devil\'s Fruit and gains Rubber powers and becomes a Pirate , due to his promise/looking up to Shanks, and goes to find One Piece-- etc. Fairy Tail goes off about a girl named Lucy who wants to join Fairy Tail, the \"best\" wizard guild at the time and there\'s multiple stories within it-- Dragon\'s + Lucy\'s mother\'s disappearance, Lumen Histoire\'s significance--etc.
With that super brief synopsis, each anime is different in what story they tell. Of course each of them will have similar points. Why? Maybe the mangaka\'s are friends irl. We as viewers/readers won\'t ever know unless you go ask them at some interview like Anime Expo/Comicon.
To be frank (which is not happening at this point of the story) you can say I love Fairy Tail, which in fact I do. I read the manga, as many others do, and I in fact can tell you that Hiro Mashima states on his twitter that Fairy Tail is coming back, but at a later time. Reason it stopped because the previous Filler Arc with Lucy and that clock key thing (I didn\'t watch it because it was terrible...) didn\'t make enough revenue, so they went with the idea of \"Let\'s not make another filler because the Anime has caught up to the Manga... let\'s just put it on Hiatus.\" Because the Anime where it left off was literally 15-20 chapters behind the Manga. That\'s to answer the other reviewer who said \"Why do you think FT\'s OVER?\" or whatever he said. I didn\'t bother reading his review because he doesn\'t get his facts straight.
One thing in common: All 4 of them teach us to treasure our Nakama! Plus it takes about 4-10 episodes through to actually see if it\'s worth watching. This Anime, just like any others, you either love it or you don\'t.
